Audition Announcement: Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig Be part of 54 years of community theater excellence at the Tower Theater of Weslaco! iTheatre invites you to audition for Ken Ludwig's hilarious comedic farce, Leading Ladies.
About the Show: Set in the 1950s, Leading Ladies follows two down-on-their-luck English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, who are scraping by on the Moose Lodge circuit in Amish country. A twist of fate leads them to York, PA, where they hear about a dying woman’s fortune intended for her long-lost nephews. The duo plans to pose as the heirs but quickly discovers the "nephews" are actually nieces! What follows is a whirlwind of disguises, mistaken identities, blossoming romance, and non-stop laughs.
Roles Available:
Meg Snider (30s): Vivacious, warm, humorous, and radiantly beautiful.
Audrey (20s): Sweet, good-natured, and the quintessential girl-next-door.
Florence: Elderly, crusty, and visually impaired.
Duncan Wooley (50s): A snippety, hidebound minister engaged to Meg.
Doc Myers: Blunt, rough-hewn, and hilariously inept.
Butch: Doc’s son with delightfully awful acting skills.
Leo Clark (40s): A tall, good-looking leading man with charisma to spare.
Jack Gable (30s-40s): Leo’s best friend and partner-in-crime.
Whether you’re a seasoned actor or trying the stage for the first time, we encourage you to audition and be part of this side-splitting production! We can’t wait to see you at auditions!
